Over the past 10 years both Silsden AFC and Silsden CC have been persuing the dream of a joint changing a social facility at our Keighley Road ground. While the old wooden huts and temporary portakabins have served us well with some being in existence for approaching 100 years the time has come for complete redevelopment.
Previous ventures linked in with both new roads and residential development sites have failed due to factors out of our control however over the past 3 years trustees Mick Sutton, Tim Sugden and football chairman Sean McNulty along with their steering committee have worked very hard to bring the project to fruition.
Many of you may have seen the proposd plans and artist impressions that have been displayed at various club functions over recent months which shows a state of the art facility which will help both the football and cricket clubs take a massive step forward.
All the necessary boxes have now been ticked, surveys carried out and funds are in place allowing for a start in June of 2008.
The bulldozers have moved in and demolished all the old buildings paving the way for construction of the new facility.
A huge thank you to all for their efforts so far and I am sure we are all very excited at the prospect of starting the 2009 season in our new clubhouse.
